Your Condition
Bulging or Protruding Disc
A bulging or protruding disc occurs when pressure on the spinal column causes the jelly-like disc to be compressed and protrude. This can be painful and put pressure on the nerves of the spine. Sciatica or buttock pain is often associated with these disc conditions.
Icing/ Heat Instructions
When acute, ice on the lower back often works best. Ice 20-30 minutes 2-3 times per day. If chronic, heat may also be helpful.
