The Ford Chiropractic Story

Dr. Aaron Ford

People often ask me, “How did you decide to become a chiropractor?” My answer always takes me back to growing up in a family where my Dad and my grandmother used chiropractors and thought very highly of the benefits they received from their treatment. My grandparents were farmers in Indiana about an hour and a half from where my nuclear family lived so I spent many weeks in the summer and holidays at their farm. My grandmother would often say to me, “You need to become a chiropractor.” I guess I eventually took it to heart and after a couple of years of undergraduate college I changed my direction and got on track to become a chiropractor.

My family had lived in Newnan, Georgia when I was a young child and I remember, even at age 5 and 6, having an affinity for Georgia. I liked the people and I liked the smell of the pines in that area, so when I decided to go to chiropractic college at age 21, I ended up choosing to come back to Georgia and go to Life Chiropractic College (now Life University) in Marietta. One interesting thing that happened on that journey was that two weeks after I moved down I had a motorcycle accident that caused some major injuries. I broke my left thigh bone, dislocated my right knee and dislocated my right shoulder. These injuries caused me to have a three month delay in starting at Life College. Fortunately, I recovered pretty well and I think the wreck actually increased my resolve to become a chiropractor.

When I got into the last few quarters of chiropractic college, I began searching for an established chiropractor to practice with temporarily. My wife is from Knoxville, Tennessee and we wanted to live somewhere between Knoxville and Atlanta. I ended up finding a position as an independent contractor in LaFayette, Georgia. After 1 year I ventured out on my own and Ford Chiropractic was born in 1999.

My mission in practice from the beginning was focused on helping people. It was my objective to treat people the way I would want to be treated. This mindset leads to some fundamental ways of doing things both in the techniques I use and in the way I do business. For instance, one of the main things Ford Chiropractic is known for is that we use “manual manipulation”, in other words I use my hands to do “adjustments” and yes, that comes with a “pop”. I also wanted a low pressure environment, meaning that I made a decision to not pressure patients about treatment. I wanted to offer patients the ability to choose how much treatment they wanted without sales pressure. I believe people are capable of making their own decisions about their health care and financial means; this has lead to a very safe and trusting environment when patients use our clinic.

I credit much of the success of Ford Chiropractic to the team of staff members that all play an integral part in making our clinic run smoothly. When you come to the clinic, we strive to treat people like persons, not as a number. There is a friendly and patient centered environment. Over the years I’ve tried to implement therapies and treatment options that really work.

There are 4 main modes of treatment that we use at Ford Chiropractic:

    1. Chiropractic Adjustments: For spinal issues, headaches and various other skeletal issues.
    2. Massage Therapy: For various muscle and joint pain, headache and trigger point pain.
    3. Class 4 Laser Therapy: For neuropathy, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, sports injuries etc.
    4. Decompression Therapy: For lumbar and cervical disc problems, sciatica, numbness, tingling and radiating arm or leg pain.

Lastly, Ford Chiropractic is in network with most major insurance companies. We have two doctors, Dr. Aaron Ford and Dr. Joe Williams. The two of us are very similar in our treatment methods. There are four massage therapists and two laser techs that are all trained or licensed in their various positions. Ford Chiropractic takes appointments and walk-ins and it would be a pleasure to serve you.
