Benefits of PRP Injections

Support for Healing and Better Movement

Joint pain doesn’t have to control your day. This treatment helps you relieve joint and soft tissue pain using your body’s own healing power.

PRP injections use a concentrated form of your own platelets to encourage your body’s healing process. That means no foreign substances, just your own biology working to reduce inflammation and support repair inside your joints. Many patients notice more comfort, better movement, and an easier time staying active without relying on medication or surgery.

Helping You Move Better, Faster

PRP injections work to reduce pain, support healing, and help you get back to the activities you enjoy as quickly as possible.

What does it do?

When PRP is injected into an injured area, the platelets break down and release these growth factors. These factors then trigger a series of events that promote healing, including:

  • Cell Recruitment

Growth factors attract cells like fibroblasts and stem cells to the injured area, which are essential for tissue repair.
  • Tissue Regeneration

PRP also stimulates the production of new collagen and other extracellular matrix components, which are the building blocks of tissues like tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.
  • Inflammation Modulation

Growth factors can also influence the inflammatory response, promoting both the initial inflammatory phase of healing and the subsequent resolution of inflammation.

PRP Injection Process

How does it work?

PRP injections take what’s already in your blood and puts it to work, helping your joints heal naturally.

  • Step

    Collect Blood

A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm to begin the treatment process.

  • Step

    Separate Platelets

The sample is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the blood.

  • Step

    Extract PRP

We collect a portion of platelet-rich plasma containing powerful healing factors.

  • Step

    Inject Injured Area

The prepared PRP is injected into the joint to reduce pain and support natural repair.

Frequently Asked Questions

PRP consists of a concentrated solution of platelets, growth factors, signaling molecules, and other plasma proteins that play vital roles in orchestrating tissue healing and joint stabilization. To yield a therapeutic benefit, a dose of over 1 billion platelets per milliliter is required. The PRP we use contains a highly significant 5 fold increase in platelet concentration compared to whole blood. This concentration far exceeds the minimum requirement of 1 billion platelets per milliliter.

For decades, high-level athletes have used PRP therapy to avoid surgery and benefit from shortened recovery time. By enhancing the body’s natural healing capacity, PRP therapy has been shown to lead to a more rapid, efficient, and more thorough healing and stabilization of tissues, bringing them back to a healthy state.

PRP is ideal for patients who have not found an appropriate level of success with more conservative or traditional treatments, such as steroid injections, viscosupplements, physical therapy, or bracing. PRP may also be an effective option for candidates that wish to attempt to delay or avoid surgery.

PRP treatments are typically given in the doctor’s clinic and can take between 30 minutes to an hour, from pre-procedural prep all the way through to putting a band-aid on the injection site.

A tailored PRP formula is prepared depending on your specific requirement. A routine blood draw is performed, and anywhere between 20-60ml of blood is taken depending on what is needed for your treatment.

The blood is then carefully separated into its components using centrifugation and then re-centrifuged in order to concentrate the desired cells into a usable treatment. This is then mixed with a small amount of the blood’s plasma to create platelet rich plasma. The PRP is then ready to be injected. The whole system is enclosed so that contamination of the sample is not a concern.

  • Minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure
  • Enhanced healing with your own natural healing factors
  • Extremely low incidence of side-effects
  • Minimal downtime – ability to carry on with your usual routine post injection
